The H2H program is designed specifically for children whose families are either currently homeless or who have recently been homeless. The program offers a weekly educational and life skill development program. The young people, ages 5-17, gather for homework help, participate in different learning opportunities, enjoy a family style dinner and spend one on one time with committed volunteers and mentors. Field trips take place several times a year. Once a month the parents are invited to attend a dinner and to view their children’s newly learned skills whether it be learning to play the drums, mime, swimming, photography or dance.
The program provides for many practical needs of the families we serve.
Where?
H2H takes place at a local church in our community. The children are transported by a bus to the program.
Our Homeless to Housing (H2H) program is made possible in part by the City of Virginia Beach on a grant received from Dragas.
Please take a moment to watch this video about our Homeless to Housing program. Through this program we are making a difference in the lives of those that need it.
